The Pitch
The focus of the project will be to blend the horror theme and setting from Alien Isolation (Creative Assembly, 2014), with the design and Halo. The game will have the player trapped in a space station that has been infested with the Flood, an alien parasite from the Halo (Bungie, 2001) universe that latches onto the host and embodies their corpse. In this game however, the Flood aren’t just another enemy like they are in previous Halo instalments. The Flood will be seen through the eyes of a lonely Marine on the space station, this will instil the fear in the player as marines are just soldiers and the Flood are an age old parasitic, hive mind life form.

The player will be rendered helpless against the Flood as they will be armed with only a rifle that is a select fire weapon and is mainly used for the flashlight and will not have the ability to kill the Humanoid Flood enemies. The players goal is to reach the command deck of the space station and initiate the self - destruct sequence to prevent the Flood from spreading.
The Level
The level will have a marine on his own in the space station that has been taken over by the Flood and he is the sole survivor. The player will be armed with a select fire rifle as to not draw attention to himself when trying to distract the Flood so they can get past. The aim for the player will be for them to get to the command deck and start the self-destruct sequence after realizing that he is the last one left and it will be the only way to stop the Flood from spreading further.

The entire map layout will have the fungal infection and the atmosphere of the Flood, by using a dense green fog, flowing throughout it and damage everywhere. This is to establish that the Flood has overrun the space station and has infested every section of the station. The player will get the sense of fear that comes with the Flood due to this design and the way that the Flood infest the areas they take over. There will be little spore versions of the flood crawling along the walls and roofs (Abandoned idea) as well as the standard humanoid Flood creatures scattered throughout the map and will test the players ability to avoid them and stay alive.

The player can look out and see space at parts of the map, this will give the player the feeling of isolation and realize that you are alone and that no one is going to save you and its completely down to you to stop the Flood. It will also let the player see the void outside of the space station, this will let the player get the sense of feeling that they are a small solitary factor in an ever expanding war torn universe.
The aim is to make the player feel alone and that they only have one choice, to destroy the Flood on their own. It’s meant to make the player see the world of Halo through the eyes of a marine as its previously never been done before and the Flood has never been seen before other than from the eyes of the Master Chief who is a super soldier and is the primary protagonist in the mainline Halo games.
